I was watching the hail and thunder and lightning (singular) with the kids this morning instead of getting ready for school; and a little light bulb came on in my head. Yesterday afternoon when I got home from picking up the kids from school I decided to roam the front yard and check on our fruit trees. I put my purse down and looked at the progress of our apricots, plum, pear, apple, etc... but then wound up around back to re-cover the citrus, then went inside through the back door. So this little light bulb, was more of a red, screaming siren. So I rushed outside, and lo and behold, my purse was gone. And it was 7:30 and the kids were still in their jammies.
So the kids magically get ready for school, with no yelling or nagging my me of course, and I grab the spare set of keys and head out to the car. I open my door, and there it is. Worse than it getting stolen, is Kevin (Mr. Organized), finding it on his way to work, then dumping out all of the water (because, seriously, who actually zips up their purse?), and placing it on my seat in the van.
I haven't talked to him yet today, but everyone will be happy to know that I also forgot my cell phone yesterday, so it wasn't ruined in the rain. See? It all works out. Right, Kevin?
if we were all organized and never screwed up we wouldn't need or see any miracles!
ReplyDeleteThis story deserves a full on applause for all its elements. A minor oversight within a major event has the potential to be catastrophic and yet by the grace of God and your husband you can just have a laugh about it. Miss by an inch, miss by a mile...hee hee.
ReplyDeleteThat's right! Make sure you pass that on to Kevin!
